Its story

Choose from a selection of colours. For more details and photos of the different colours, see here and The Finishes section below.

Made in England, from British reclaimed pine wood and steel hand picked for quality, character and durability (see The Finer Details tab for more information), its combination of characterful, reclaimed wood and striking central base gives the Astral Base dining table an industrial yet modern design.

A truly stunning and striking piece of contemporary furniture that will give any home, bar or restaurant a feeling of comfort and quality.

Our reclaimed furniture range is coated in a durable matt water resistant lacquer or equivalent finish providing protection from staining and spillages.

  • Available in a range of different sizes, seating from 4 – 12 people and choose from a selection of colours. Colouring can vary with different batches of wood, for more information please see here and 'The Finishes' section below.
  • Great benches also available. The design of the Astral Base means benches will partially slide under tables up to 140cm in length (they will sit around 5cm outside of the table) and will fully slide under on tables 150cm+ in length. We recommend buying benches the same length as your required table length.
  • Part of the charm of reclaimed furniture, as a natural, living material, is that it develops over time. Changes (such as surface splits/spreading) may start to appear with the natural adjustment of the wood when it adjusts to a new environment, and there are likely to be imperfections in the wood, such as knots, holes (of all shapes and sizes), indentations, bumps, notches, different grains and the surface may not be completely flat or smooth (we always endeavour to get as uniform as possible). This is all part of the character of reclaimed wood which can be hundreds of years old, has had a former life and gives reclaimed furniture a unique look and feel, as no two pieces will be exactly the same. For more information, please see The Finishes section below and please note we're unable to replace/exchange furniture due to these natural features/characteristics - for more information please see our returns and refund policy.

Extendable tables also available. For more information, see here.

Colour shown in main photo is Rugger Brown.

The height of this table is approximately 77cm.

All of our industrial tables and benches are hand made to order, so if you require are more bespoke size, just get in touch and we'll let you know what's possible.

Our Astral benches and benches with backs perfectly complement the Astral Base dining table. These are available separately.

The Finishes

Our reclaimed furniture range is available in a great selection of colours and are coated in a durable matt water resistant lacquer or equivalent finish.

Part of the charm of reclaimed furniture, as a natural, living material, is that it develops over time, this may not suit everyone.

Some colour variation may also be expected between batches of wood - the appearance of the wood and exact colour may vary from the photos shown.

These distinctive qualities give reclaimed furniture a unique feel, as no two pieces will be exactly the same.

Some examples of character you can expect are:

Matt Water Resistant Lacquer or Equivalent

With a lacquer finish, the final finish will likely be a bit grainy and highlight the natural characteristics of the reclaimed wood. It can appear more rustic. It's typically a robust finish, making it durable against marking or staining and will also add more water resistance to the wood. Making it a great option if you expect some staining or spillages.

For further details of the aftercare of our reclaimed range, please see the Reclaimed Furniture Aftercare Section of our FAQ page.

Driftwood - Dark

Dark Driftwood is our latest twist on the traditional driftwood colour, with darker yet still natural timber tones.

Driftwood - Light

Light Driftwood is a light, natural clear colour. Similar to a pine colour bringing out the natural colour and features of the timber.

Rugger Brown - Dark

Dark Rugger Brown is a richer dark oak colour.

Rugger Brown - Light

Light Rugger Brown is similar to a medium oak colour. It's a classic!

Walnut - Light

Our Light Walnut colour is very much a contemporary twist on walnut. Lighter and more vibrant!

We can also apply a wash finish such as a grey or white wash should you be looking for something more bespoke and contemporary. A clear matt water resistant lacquer varnish will then be applied.

Grey Wash - Dark

A contemporary, medium-dark colour with variable hints of grey running through.

Grey Wash - Light

A cross between our Driftwood and Dark Grey Wash, Light Grey Wash is a light natural colour bringing out the character and natural colour of the timber together with subtle hints of grey which varies in different lights.

White Wash

This is a contemporary light stain, similar to a light beech finish.

We can also offer different finishes for the steel bases, just get in touch to discuss further.

The finer details

Origins
Our reclaimed furniture range is made using reclaimed pine, hand picked from various old industrial buildings across the UK. It was mainly used as floor joists in its previous life so has lots of history, character and detail you will only find in genuine reclaimed wood. It is also extremely heavy and durable, always a sign of great quality.

The reclaimed planks are joined to form the finishing touches to all our furniture, whether it be a dining table, side unit, bench, desk… possibilities are endless when each piece is lovingly restored to measure by hand!

All the solid steel bases and frames are hand made to order. The steel is bought in long strips, this is then cut and welded to form the unique furniture designs. The steel is gunmetal grey in colour and the silver marks on the joins are from welding the steel together, making each piece bespoke whilst adding to the industrial look.

To ensure the steel stays looking perfect, the bases are all finished with a clear matt lacquer coating.

Delivery

Our reclaimed furniture is handmade to order to a high quality so there is a lead time. But it’ll be worth the wait! Pre-Christmas delivery still available for a limited time for deliveries up to/including w/c 20th December including Christmas Eve.

Free standard delivery is available for mid-late January 2022 for most of the mainland UK. Delivery charges will still apply to Scotland and other long distance locations and will be confirmed during checkout. Long distance locations, particularly remote areas, will also be subject to additional delivery time. For these locations, the delivery times shown during checkout are a guide only and depending on your area, extra time may be required. Where delivery charges apply, we will combine the delivery cost for multiple items from our reclaimed furniture range.

Tables are typically delivered unassembled for access purposes, benches are typically pre-assembled. Deliveries are currently contactless to the door step of your property following social distancing procedures, with all pre-assembly preparation/guidance completed by our team for easy self-assembly (screwing bases to table tops is all that is needed). A suitable power driver/drill will be required.

Our standard delivery services are a 1 man service to the ground floor entrance of any property. We’d kindly ask you’re able to assist our delivery drivers receiving the furniture – we’d always advise 2 people are available to assist, particularly with larger orders. Please contact us if you have any specific delivery requirements and we will do our best to help you.

Deliveries days and times vary depending on locations and a time slot will be provided when delivery is arranged.

Non mainland and remote areas of the UK will be subject to additional delivery charges and additional time should be allowed for delivery. International deliveries will also incur extra charges. Please contact us for further information.
